Kitesurf Hermanus was founded in 2012 by a group of local enthusiastic kitesurfers.  With teaching experience going back to 2005 and many years of operating kite shops and schools overseas, KSH was born. The idea was to develop the sport in a sustainable and safe way and to expose (KSH) Kitesurf Hermanus as truly world class kitesurfing destination.

 

There are so many opportunities to kitesurf in and around Hermanus from open water wave sessions at Grotto Beach, Voelklip to flat water lagoons ideal especially for beginner and intermediate riders with Maanskybaai, Fisherhaven, Rooisands and the Klein Rivier Lagoon being favorite and all easily accessible.

Hermanus has unparalleled scenery and you'll often see the top pro's hitting the lagoon to get those stunning photographs we often drool over in the kite magazines.

 

We don't quite get the pumping 35+ knot winds you see in Cape Town and generally we fly bigger kites. Wind speeds average from 15 to 25 knots, which still make for some lekker sessions and you can basically ride any wind direction on any given day all year round.
